Is there anything your electricians can do to protect my property from power surge damage?
Short answer is No. Snell’s Electrical can install a surge protector in your switchboard which can help protect but it is not 100% guaranteed. I have an old switchboard on my property, do I need to have it replaced?
If you have received a defect notice from Ergon, then yes. If your switchboard has exposed Asbestos or is deemed unsafe, yes it will require replacing. |
I’m having problems with my power tripping out regularly, is there anything your electricians can do to fix this?

Yes, This is a safety issue and replacement is required to meet Australian Electrical Standards. How often do smoke alarms need to be tested?
As per the Queensland Government legislation each smoke alarms within a dwelling must be tested and cleaned at least once every 12 months. |
Do smoke alarms need to be hard wired?
From 1 January 2027 All existing private homes, townhouses and units will require photoelectric interconnected smoke alarms. These must be either a hardwired (eg. 240v) or non-removable 10 year battery powered type alarm.
